Q: I got a really low cost holiday. Are there any other costs involved: Heating etc?
A: Electricity in the flats is by way of a £1 coin meter which is set to Electricity Board recommendation: We do not make a profit from it. If you wish to bring a pet there is an additional charge of £10.
Q: Is there a telephone available? I must be able to contact work etc at all times.
A: There is a payphone if needed but it does not accept incoming calls - most mobiles work here anyway.
Q: Something has come up and I will not be able to come on holiday. Can I get my money back.
A: Your attention is drawn to our General Terms. We also recommend you take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking.
Q: Can I choose to be in an upstairs or downstairs flat?
A: Only if it's available and you bid on the correct auction / But it now item!

Q: Is there a TV? I couldn't bear to miss Coronation Street, Eastenders, Big Brother etc...
A: Yes, there is a TV in each flat. There is BBC 1, BBC 2, HTV Wales(ITV) and S4C(Welsh Channel 4). Channel 5 is not available as yet.
Q: How far is the beach?
A: Poppit Sands is approx ¼ mile down the lane or you can walk approx 150 yards down a path to the beach below Penrhyn Mawr which links to Poppit Sands except at high tide.
Q: You say you welcome pets. Are dogs allowed on the beach and why do you charge now?
A: Yes, dogs are allowed on the beach but not in all areas. ( You will need to check the signs at the beach). We would ask you to keep dogs on leads whilst around Penrhyn Mawr bearing in mind this is farming country. We now make a small charge to cover the additional cleaning and maintenance incurred through accepting pets!
Pet cleanliness and good behaviour is also required as not all our guests are understanding pet owners!
Q: It says each flat sleeps 4/5 people. What does this mean?
A: This means each flat sleeps 4/5 people with NO EXEPTIONS, not Uncle Tom Cobley and all!
A fifth guest would have to use a camp bed which is only suitable for a child.
If you need more room please let us know and we will do our best to rent you a second - third or even fourth flat for the same date!
Why Do You Prefer PayPal can I send you a cheque?:
Q: Why do people who pay by PayPal on your web site seem to get more of a discount. Why can't I send a cheque?
A: PayPal payments are instant and save us time and money which we often pass on to customers using this payment method. We have had many problems with cheque payment in the past hence our preference to PayPal.
Q: I don't have a car. Where is the nearest Railway / Bus Station?
A: Whilst not wishing to put people off - Penrhyn Mawr Holiday Flats are really only suited to your having your own vehicle - You can get to the general area by rail (either Clunderwen or Fishguard - both around 25 miles from us). You would then need various buses to get to Poppit Sands and a taxi for the last bit of your journey or a substantial hike (¼ mile uphill) with your luggage! Once here, unless using taxis, you would have the same ¼ mile walk each way to the bus stop for shopping etc. During the winter months the bus may only run twice a week.
I Want To Be Your Letting Agent:
Q: Your prices are so low that I am going to buy from you and then re-sell to make a profit for myself. Is there any problem with this? Can I advertise your holidays on my own site and make a bit of profit on the deal?
A: WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THIRD PARTY (AGENCY) BOOKINGS UNLESS THEY ARE GIVEN AS GIFTS. e.g. "I bought it for my Mum / Brother / Friend" etc. Attempting to re-sell a holiday for profit is NOT ACCEPTABLE to us. We always report this kind of activity to eBay / PayPal and block any future transactions. We also leave appropriate feedback!
Q: I have a disability. Would this be suitable for me.
A: The ground floor flats are more suited to anyone with a disability. Ground around the flats is fairly level but this is unspoilt National Park Countryside.
There is disabled access to the beach at Poppit.

Q: Where is the nearest pub, shop etc?
A: The nearest pub is approx 1 mile. The village shop is approx 2¾ miles. Tesco, Cardigan is 5 miles away.
Q: I bid before I realised I could not get the time off work / had to visit the dentist / had to take the cat to the vet etc etc...
Can I pay the low price and then come on a different, more expensive, week instead?
A: NO!
Q: I booked and paid some weeks ago but now something has come up at work and I can't come. Can I get my money back?

Q: Is your 'Cottage / Caravan / Chalet' available at other times?
A: This is not a 'Cottage / Caravan /Chalet'.
This is a building divided into four flats, all with a similar layout:

There will be other low priced weeks available but we do not usually auction them until shortly before they start. Q: In your eBay feedback, which was generally very good, a few people said that the accommodation was basic. What do they mean?
A: Well, there is no dishwasher, satellite tv or central heating as yet, but you will find this a practical & comfortable base from which to explore the Pembrokeshire National Park.
Strangely, these comments seem to come from the people who got the best bargains: Some as low as £89 for a weeks holiday: That's less than £13 a night for the whole family!!!

A: The price is per flat per week and not per person.
Why Am I On Your Blocked Bidder List:
Q: We had such a great holiday that we want to come back again but eBay has blocked us buying from you. Why is this?
A: To join our Blocked Bidder List simply leave the place like a pig sty or upset other guests. You could also leave way beyond our 10am deadline on the day of your departure so we end up paying cleaners to sit around and drink tea. Let your pets be a nuisance. You could also try not sending payment on time or sending us a bouncing cheque!
Late Payment / Delaying Tactics.
Q: Your ebay / website payment details state that payment must be made within seven days of buying / booking. I'm having trouble with my PayPal / Bank Account. You will get your payment but it will take ten days / two weeks / until the end of the month. Is this ok?
A: NO - We are not Credit Brokers - We are only able to maintain our low prices by ensuring we receive prompt payment:

Q: This is the first time I've used eBay. Can you do everything for me as I don't understand anything and can't be bothered to try and find out.
A: First time buyers are welcome but please, this isn't a game, you will find eBay has an excellent help system. We will always do our best to answer questions but we do not work for eBay!
Can I Have A Postal Receipt & Brochure:
Q: Can you send me postal details or post me a receipt for my payment?
A: Yes, if you are prepared to pay an additional £15 to cover the added costs to us. We prefer to operate entirely via the internet as it considerably reduces our time and costs. We have been selling via the internet for some years now with far fewer problems than we ever had via many years of post! This also helps to keeps our prices low!
Q: Your FAQ's page seems rather hostile. What kind of people are you?
A: We are very friendly and will bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your holiday but, after 20 or so years in this business, we find folks prefer plain facts in no uncertain terms. This ensures a complete understanding of what is and what is not on offer.
Q: I just bought a holiday but now it's listed on eBay again. Is this a con. Are you a bunch of crooks?
A: Don't worry. Your booking is safe. We have four flats at this location. Once a vacancy is booked we try to sell the next which may well be for the same week, but in a different flat!
Q: Why is it so cheap? What's the catch?
A: There isn't one. We would rather get less money than no money for our unsold weeks and hopefully you will have such a great time that you will want to come back and pay a bit more next time!
Now hurry up and bid / buy before someone else beats you to it!
A Quick Summary / Final Note ... We try really hard to ensure that any potential guest knows, in advance, exactly what they are buying. Occasionally, someone will "slip through the net". This usually happens when a potential guest cannot be bothered to read all of this page, is blinded by the low price or does not read the description properly. Also, on eBay, some folks greed seems to get the better of them. They bid ridiculously high just to beat the competition and then are disappointed when, having paid way over the odds, our flats are not magically transformed into a luxury hotel with a private beach where the sun shines all year round. We are approx 250 miles from London. Whichever way you come here there will be some degree of 'B' road driving at least for the last 30 miles of your journey. Relax, take your time. You're coming here for a break! The nearest motorway (M4) is about 40 miles away. Complaints, though few, are not what we want. We live on the same site as the flats and will always be here to sort out any problems that may arise. This is comfortable, clean, basic self-catering accommodation. There will probably be other guests in the same building during your stay. They may or may not have children and or pets. Access to the property is via a short (approx ¼ mile) country lane with several passing places then a very short rough track across the smallholding. This is plain wild countryside with a breath-taking sea view. Nearest pub is 1 mile, nearest shop is 2¾ miles, nearest Tesco is 5 miles.
